This year's BIKY Youth section highlights the inner worlds of young people who, despite loss, uncertainty, and the weight of reality, persist in finding their own voices. As they navigate the turbulence of adolescence, forge connections, and venture into the wider world, their journeys unfold on screen with honesty and hope.

The selected films confront unexpected farewells and life’s dark realities with remarkable candor. A girl's path toward healing after the loss of her closest friend, alongside a dreamlike reflection that uses AI to reconstruct the memory of someone gone, offers a poignant meditation on grief and remembrance. Elsewhere, a boy escaping domestic violence discovers an unexpected refuge on the margins of society, while a single mother confronts the harsh truths of life on a trash-strewn beach hidden behind the gleaming image of a tropical paradise. 

The program also celebrates acts of courage that transcend time, distance, and prejudice. A mystery adventure set against the shadow of the 1938 Holocaust explores the enduring power of friendship, while a boy who proudly declares sign language to be his first language discovers the possibility of genuine connection. Alongside these are the playful antics of a rebellious ninja duo and a globe-spanning journey through the earth's underground ecosystems, adding energy and curiosity to the program. Rather than offering easy consolation, these thoughtful stories honor the difficult process of growing stronger through hardship.
