Our School’s Film Production Club
Jun-woo, stuck in a slump, quits baseball ― the thing he loved most ― blaming his injury and a lack of talent. He goes back to the club room to collect his things, gets into a fight with his friends, and walks away with a heavy heart. Wandering through a park, he stumbles onto a film club shoot. When an actor suddenly runs away, Jun-woo ends up filling the void and joins the film club. Making films with his new, eccentric clubmates, he watches each of them show up with genuine joy and passion. It makes him reflect on how easily he walked away from baseball. But just before they submit their film to a festival, they find out a work with the exact same story already exists. The screenplay was written by Hae-on, and the club is suddenly at the center of a plagiarism controversy.
I started making films with just a phone through a school club. Now I make films that capture the emotions and realities of being a teenager right now, hoping to offer comfort and empathy to my peers and start a conversation with adults. I want to keep recording the moments that only belong to this age, while they are still here.
