Program Note

Adapted from the children's book by Alexandre Chardin and Nathalie Minne, this animated short follows Mulu, a boy in prehistoric times who feels at odds with his clan's brutal hunting customs. One day, he stumbles upon a hidden cave and a bear. Through drawing, the two unlikely companions build a bond that needs no words. In a world defined by violence, the film traces a young boy's warm and powerful journey toward connection through art.

Adapted from the picture book『MULU』by Alexandre Chardin and Nathalie Minne, this film was created during the third year of a Bachelor's program as part of a children's and young adult literature adaptation workshop, in partnership with Synoptico (Casterman).
